Set up for you is the Complete plan plus us building the site for you (£149.00, one payment). You choose it from Upgrade in your dashboard once you have created your event. When payment completes we email you asking for a few basics; this page is the same list with what each section needs, so you can gather things before you buy. Paid and no email? What to do.
How it works
Create your event, then choose Set up for you from Upgrade.
The wizard takes five minutes: start from the wedding template or a blank page, add your names and the date, and pick your web address. In the studio, press Upgrade and choose Set up for you. Payment is on the Stripe page, as with any plan. Your site stays offline while we build it.
Reply to our email with the basics.
Your names, the date, a cover photo if you have one, the look you’re after, and a yes or no to each section with the details it asks for. We build the first version within five working days. Send changes by email and we make them; when you are happy, you press publish. RSVP details can come in the same email, or in a follow-up if you’re still sorting the guest list. Gifts whenever you have them.
A short handover.
Once everything is in, we hand the event over with what you need to change anything yourself, including adding a guest password if you want one. Most changes take under a minute in the studio.
Your event
This is all the email asks for.
Your names, as they should appear
"Sophie & James", "Sophie and James Whitfield" or "The Whitfield wedding".
The date, and the time the day starts for guests
A cover photo, if you have one
The two of you or your venue. Landscape, at least 1920 pixels wide, the original rather than a screenshot. Without one we use a plain colour.
The look you're after
A word or two (classic, relaxed, modern) or a photo of your invitations. We pick the palette and lettering to match.
Which sections you want, and what each one needs
Go through the list below and answer yes or no to each. Where a yes needs something from you, it says what.
The sections
A yes or no to each. We write the headings and any framing text ourselves.
Do you want a schedule?
If yes: times and what's happening, one per line.
Do you want venue and directions?
If yes: each venue's name and full address with postcode, and when guests should arrive.
Do you want info cards?
A row of small cards, each with a title and one line, for things guests glance at: "By car: free parking on site", "By train: the nearest station is a ten-minute taxi ride", "Hotels: rooms held at the venue until March", "Taxis: two local numbers". FAQs are for questions that need a proper answer. If yes: tell us what you want guests to know and we'll turn it into cards.
Do you want FAQs?
Questions and answers, for anything that needs a sentence or two: "Can I bring children?", "What should I wear?", "What time does it end?", "Is there a gift list?". If yes: the questions and your answers.
Do you want a free-text section, such as how you met, or anything else?
You can have more than one. If yes: a heading and the words for each, in your own voice. We tidy spelling; we don't rewrite it.
Do you want a countdown to the day?
Do you want a guestbook?
Guests leave you a message from their phone.
Do you want music requests?
Guests suggest songs; you see them in your dashboard.
Do you want a photo album?
If yes: when it should open. Any date works; the wedding day is one option, or when invitations go out so guests see your own photos when they first open the site. And whether guests can upload their own photos or only see yours. The album stays open for six months from the day it opens.
Do you want a gift registry?
If yes: send what you have, with a price and link where you have them. You can add more yourself later.
RSVPs
Include the RSVP details in your first email if you have them. If you're still sorting the guest list, it's fine to wait and send them in a follow-up before invitations go out.
RSVP
Open, where anyone with the link types their name, or guest list, where guests find their own name. One RSVP for everyone, or separate day and evening. The reply deadline. Whether guests can add a plus-one, and how many.
Guest list
For guest list RSVPs: the spreadsheet you already have, in whatever shape it's in. Tell us which column has the names and whether a row is one person or a household.
Meal choices
If guests choose their food when they reply: each menu, its courses and the options for each. Otherwise say "no choices".
Paid but no email?
It comes from hello@ode.events within a few minutes of payment, so check spam first. If it isn’t there, email us at hello@ode.events from the address you signed up with and include:
- Your event’s web address, or its name
- Roughly when you paid
You don’t need to wait for us. The email only asks for the basics under Your event above, so you can send those to the address above and we start from there.
The small print
- The Complete plan is on your event as soon as you pay. If your event is already on a paid plan, you pay the difference.
- Places are limited each month and yours is held from the moment you pay. If you change your mind within 14 days, we refund the difference between Set up for you and the Complete plan and your event stays on Complete. After that, or once we have started building, the payment is final.
- We adjust each part until you are happy with it. After the handover you edit the event yourself.
- We enter the guest list you send and we don’t write your story from nothing. The seating plan is yours to build when the replies are in; the seating planner is made for it, and it’s included in your plan.
- We take a small number of these each month. If it isn’t offered when you publish, this month’s are gone.
- Your details and attachments are used only to build your event and deleted after handover. See the privacy policy.
