Your referral code is your event address, the last part of your event link. When someone enters it at checkout to buy a plan for their own event, they get 10% off and your event gets 100 extra photos in its album. There is nothing to sign up for and no separate code to remember.
Sharing your code
Press Refer in the studio.
Refer sits next to Settings in the studio tools (under More on a phone). It shows your code with Copy code, and a link with Copy link that signs a friend up with the code already filled in. Share whichever suits. The same block is in Settings under Plan & billing.
Send it to anyone planning an event.
Every event has its own code, so you can share whichever you like. The block also shows how many extra photos the event has earned so far.
Using a code
Choose a paid plan.
Press Publish in the studio and pick any paid plan, or, if your event is already live on Free, press Upgrade or any locked tool. Under the plan cards, press Have a referral code? and type the code, or paste the link. If you signed up through a friend’s link the code is already filled in.
Confirm and pay.
The confirmation line reads 10% off with your referral code and the discount is shown on the checkout page before you pay. A code that we can’t match, or that belongs to one of your own events, is refused with a message so you can fix it before checkout.
The rules
- The discount applies to the first paid purchase on an event, whether you publish straight onto a plan, move to one from Free, or order Set up for you. It does not apply when moving between paid plans. You can use a code on each event you take paid.
- The referral discount replaces the promotion code box on the checkout page; the two cannot be combined.
- Your own events cannot refer each other. Co-organisers count as owners here.
- Extra photos are added the moment the referred payment completes, and stay with the event on any plan. Each event can earn up to 500 extra photos. Once it is there, friends still get their discount.
- Extra photos raise the photo limit and nothing else. They do not extend the album window or how long photos are kept, and they do not add anything else from a higher plan. They follow the same album window and deletion dates as the rest of the album, so once your album has closed they will not be of use to you, though a friend still gets their discount.
