A guest photo album doesn’t compete with a wedding photographer’s work; it catches what one person can’t be there for: the far tables, the other side of the dance floor, the getting-ready in a different room. Offering one is cheap. Partner programmes from the QR photo apps run from about $25 to $39 a wedding, or a flat monthly fee, and Ode Business gives every couple a whole wedding website for £9.99 a month, with albums at 3p a photo. Include it to win the booking, or sell it on as an add-on.
Will it undercut my own photos?
Not if you frame it. Guests’ photos are phone snaps from where they happened to be sitting; yours are the composed, lit, edited record of the day. Couples know the difference. What a guest album adds is quantity and angles: the moment at table nine you were never going to see, the selfies, the last hour after you’ve packed up.
It can even help with the thing photographers dislike most, a forest of phones in the aisle. “Phones away for the ceremony; the album opens for the reception” is an easier request when guests know their photos have somewhere to go.
Include it, or sell it?
Included, it’s the extra that separates two quotes at the same price. It costs you a few pounds a wedding, and it puts your name in front of every guest who scans the QR code.
Sold as an add-on, it’s margin. The ceiling is what couples pay to do it themselves: the UK apps charge £20 to £60 once, and a couple buying a 300-photo album from us pays £35 (it comes with a full wedding website). Price your add-on at or below that and it’s an easy yes. Our roundup of the apps couples buy direct has the retail prices.
The options for photographers
Prices as each company listed them on 15 October 2026.
Wedibox partner packs
Wedibox (California) sells packs of events with no subscription: 5 for $195 ($39 each), 10 for $320 ($32) or 20 for $500 ($25). Your first event is free and unused events don’t expire. Couples get its All-In-One package, with photo sharing, an audio guestbook, RSVPs and seating. It’s co-branded rather than white-labelled, and you approve each couple who redeems an event (or it approves itself after 14 days).
GUESTPIX Pro Bundles
GUESTPIX (Australia) sells bundles of 5, 10 or 20 of its Signature galleries at 10% to 30% off, with the price worked out at checkout. Every gallery can carry your logo, colours and social handles at no extra cost, galleries never expire, and you can transfer one to the couple. It includes video and a video guestbook.
SnapTheKnot for photographers
SnapTheKnot (Florida) charges photographers $79 a month or $790 a year for up to ten active client galleries, each carrying your studio’s name and logo by default, with a free test gallery to try.
Referral schemes
Some apps pay you to send couples their way instead. WedSnap, a UK app at £29.99, pays partners £5 for each completed wedding they refer and gives the couple 10% off. It’s free to join, but the couple still pays and it’s their purchase, not your package.
Ode Business Essential
Ode Business is the one that isn’t just photos. For £9.99 a month (or £99 a year), every couple you take on gets a wedding website they build themselves, with RSVPs and meal choices, a seating plan guests search on their phones, a gift list and a guestbook. Add a photo album to any wedding from top-ups at 3p a photo: a 300-photo album costs you £9. A template puts a section about your business on every couple’s page.
The honest limits: Ode’s album takes photos, not video; it keeps each photo at up to 1,920 pixels on the long edge rather than the original; photos download one at a time; and the album closes and is deleted at the end of its window. If video matters to your couples, one of the apps above does that better.
What to check before you choose
- Video. If your couples will want clips of the speeches, check video is on the plan you’re buying, not just the top one.
- Whose name is on it. White-label (yours only), co-branded (both), or a section about you on the couple’s page.
- Pricing shape. Packs suit a steady, predictable season; a flat subscription suits higher volume; referral schemes cost nothing but earn little.
- How long it’s kept, and the download. Originals or resized, one ZIP or one at a time, and a clear date the couple must download by.
- Where the photos are stored. Your couples’ guests are uploading photos of people; know which country the files sit in and who the company is.
How to word it in your package
Then set it up when the couple books, not the week before: send the QR code with your pre-wedding questionnaire, and remind them to have it on the tables and mentioned in the speeches. That is what fills an album.
